The National Chamber Ensemble Opens with “Hungarian Musical Masterpieces”
The opening concert for the National Chamber Ensemble opens with music from Hungary’s famous sons: Bela Bartok, Ernst von Dohnanyi and Franz Liszt. Leonid Sushansky will be on violin, Carlos Cesar Rodriguez on piano and Steven Honigberg will be on cello. More information on the concert can be found here.

See Mariachi Herencia de México at The Barns at Wolf Trap

Mariachi Herencia de México will be appearing at The Barns at Wolf Trap Friday to celebrate their sixth studio release called “Our Latin Thing (Nuestra Cosa).” The group drew inspiration from Spanish Harlem’s percussion line while honoring legends like Celia Cruz. Arturo Sandoval Visits the George Mason Center for the Arts

10-time Grammy Award winner Arturo Sandoval will be performing on Sunday evening at 7 p.m. at the George Mason Center for the Arts. Sandoval, a jazz trumpet and flugelhorn virtuoso, also plays the piano and timbales. He will be the recipient of a Kennedy Center Honors Award in December. The Capital Food Fight Celebrates 20 Years
Don’t miss the 20th anniversary of the Capital Food Fight this evening at The Anthem. The event will benefit DC Central Kitchen and will feature local chefs competing in an onstage battle hosted by big names in the culinary world. More information on the event can be found here.

It’s That Time of Year—The Czech Christmas Market is Back

The Embassy of the Czech Republic is hosting an all-day Christmas Market on Saturday from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. There will be mulled wine, Czech pastries and sweet treats, and lots of gifts and treasures for sale for everyone on your holiday list. Christmas carols will be sung by Czech children and there will also be the opportunity for selfies with animals. More information on the event can be found here.

Mount Vernon Salutes Veterans

Monday is Veterans Day, and Mount Vernon admission is free for all active duty, former or retired military personnel. Veterans will be honored with a floral tribute, U.S. Air Force strings performance, a Revolutionary War flag discovery station and more. More information on the event can be found here.

Check Out “The Art of Care” at Mosaic Theater
“The Art of Care” is a theatrical event that explores the common thread of our humanity at a time when it can feel in short supply. The show premiered on Halloween and will run through November 24. “The Art of Care” is produced in partnership with The Laboratory for Global Performance and Politics at Georgetown University and developed in collaboration with The Global Health Institute, School of Health, School of Nursing, Medstar Health and the Medical Humanities Initiative at Georgetown University. André 3000 to Appear at The Kennedy Center

Musician and seven-time Grammy winner André 3000 will be at The Kennedy Center Saturday evening for a show, “New Blue Sun Live in Concert.” The evening promises to be adventurous with lots of soulful, thought-provoking music.
