•With Thanksgiving just two weeks away, it’s time to start thinking holiday fun. Here are some options for your weekend, including a seasonal market at Strathmore, winter preparedness training with the Citizens Association of Georgetown, the Four Seasons Wine & Dine and more.
CAG Winter Preparedness Training Is Today
This evening at 6:30 p.m., don’t miss the Citizens Association of Georgetown’s Winter Preparedness Training at Lululemon Georgetown (3077 M St. NW). The event will be hosted in partnership with D.C. Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency. It is open to the community, and no registration is required. More information can be found here.
Today and Tomorrow: Don’t Miss Four Seasons Wine & Dine
The third annual Four Seasons Hotel Wine & Dine is today and Friday and will feature a cocktail reception, celebrity chefs and more. The event benefits cancer research and patient care at MedStar Georgetown Cancer Institute and MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. More information on the event can be found here.
“Six” Is Back at the National Theatre
The popular musical starring the six wives of Henry VIII is back at the National Theatre now through Dec. 1. The musical is set to modern music and celebrates 21st century girl power while honoring Henry VIII’s wives from centuries ago. The Broadway musical won a Tony Award for Best Original Score and picked up an additional 22 awards during the 2021-2022 Broadway season. More information on tickets can be found here.
Enjoy Music at the Hirshhorn Saturday
Saturday evening at the Ring Auditorium at The Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Gardens, take in “21st Century Consort: Above and Beyond.” The program kicks of the 21st Century Consort’s 50th anniversary season. The show is directed by founder and conductor Christopher Kendall and is inspired by the “worlds” above us, like flights of birds and outer space. More information on the event can be found here.
Washington National Opera Presents “Macbeth”
Now through Nov. 23 only, Washington National Opera is showing a new production of the Shakespeare classic “Macbeth” (which Verdi adapted as an opera). Canadian singer Etienne Dupuis makes his debut as the title character while Ewa Płonka who performed in Turandot last year, returns to sing the Lady Macbeth role. Go on a Shopping Spree at Strathmore Museum Holiday Market
The 35th Annual Museum Shop Holiday Market is back this weekend at Strathmore. Guests will be able to shop their holiday list with participating shops and artists from The Phillips Collection, Brookside Gardens, Hillwood Estate, Museum, and Gardens and more. Every purchase supports non-profit museums and art organizations in the area. There is a suggested $10 donation at the dor. RSVP is requested, but not required and no strollers are allowed. 100+ Artists to Attend Umbrella Art Fair
Also this weekend is the Umbrella Art Fair. Over 100 local and global artists will be descending onto Union Market, where they will showcase their works. Exhibitors include D.C.’s Fabiola R.
