The eleventh annual Turkish Festival brought together 100 artists and thousands of visitors on Sept. 29 to “create new friendships and explore the wonders of Turkey in Washington D.C.” The festival featured a variety of live musical and folk dance performances including the return from Turkey of the Yeditepe University Folklore Club. Several tents were set up along Freedom Plaza and Pennsylvania Avenue, where visitors were invited to purchase jewelry, clothing and food, and meet with organizations that provide information about Turkish culture. The Turkish Festival also featured hands-on activities for kids.
