•Close to a thousand demonstrators rallied near the U.S. Capitol, before marching to Federal Energy Regulatory Commission headquarters on July 13 to urge FERC to reject a permit for Dominion Resources’ proposed LNG export facility at Cove Point, Md., 50 miles from the White House on the Chesapeake Bay, claiming it would pose a major threat to the environment. Cove Point is one of about two dozen projects that include plans to ship a growing bounty of domestic natural gas to countries in Asia and Europe.
