Physical models remain a vital component in architecture design and representation. From large-scale mock-ups of window details to quick-sketch study models, architects continue to use the models to understand space, form and detail. At this interactive workshop sponsored by the District Architecture Center, Eric Jenkins, AIA, will introduce both the conceptual and practical aspects of architectural model making and demonstrate traditional techniques as well as digital fabrication using laser cutters, 3D printers and CNC routers. Novices, experts and everyone in between are welcome. The workshop will conclude with a hands-on study model session.
