The Art League’s popular Holiday Ceramics Sale features hundreds of one-of-a-kind ceramic pieces created by the students and associates of the Art League. On Friday, the sale runs until 9 p.m. Also Saturday 12/3 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 12/4 noon to 5 p.m.

**Smithsonian Holiday Festival**

The festival will feature special holiday screenings of “The Muppet Christmas Carol” and “The Polar Express,” plus a musical performance by the U.S. Air Force Band High Flight. The holiday festival also offers Mars chocolate demonstrations, a “Muppets and Puppets” exhibit showcasing the evolution of puppetry, astronaut food sampling, family holiday photo opportunities and a variety of seasonal drinks and treats including gourmet marshmallows.

Also on the program is Leonard Bernstein’s “Symphonic Dances from West Side Story.”

The Bohemian Caverns Jazz Orchestra, a 17-piece big band, plays holiday classics from the library of Stan Kenton, Claude Thornhill, and the entire Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn adaptation of the “Nutcracker Suite.” In addition, the band will feature original arrangements of carols and a recitation of “Twas The Night Before Christmas.” Second performance at 7:30 p.m.
