In Series “Magic Flute” Director’s Salon

On Sept. 13, In Series, whose motto is “opera and more,” held a season kick off at Casa Italiana to preview its upcoming production of “The Magic Flute” at the Scottish Rite Temple Sept. 23 – Oct. 1. Panelists including Artistic Director Carla Hübner, Stage Director Rick Davis and Adaptor Nick Olcott spoke of their roles in the pocket opera presentation followed by a short performance and Q&A. Carla Hübner, a concert pianist who founded the company 36 years ago, said this was an emotional evening as she will be stepping down following this season, which will also present programs on Jacques Brel, Jerome Kern and zarzuela.
