Citizens’ Concert in Rose Park Sings Au Revoir to Summer

As a hot summer waned, on its last full day, Sunday, Sept. 22, yoga began for the Welcome Back Concert in Rose Park, presented by the Citizens Association of Georgetown.

Neighborhood newcomer Uprising Yoga Center got people stretching, and then classic rock band the Other Side got people dancing.

With support from Compass Real Estate and Friends of Rose Park, the park party included food from Rocklands Barbeque and Captain Cookie.

Besides the CAG crew — Cheryl Gray, Leslie Maysak, Mandi Howard and Nancy Carpenter — on hand were Concerts in the Park founder Elizabeth Miller, now an advisory neighborhood commissioner; Dave Dunning and David Abrams of Friends of Rose Park; Commissioners Joe Gibbons and Kishan Putta; and Ward 2 Council candidate Patrick Kennedy. And a lot more kids and adults.
