A bipartisan group of Washington political leaders gathered March 11 with Irish brethren to pay tribute to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Matthew Shay and Rep. Peter King at the 28th Annual Ireland Funds Gala. Emerald green lighting glowed through the National Building Museum. An Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar, Prime Minister of Ireland, addressed guests as part of his multi-stop St. Patrick’s Day visit to the U.S. The gala’s theme was “A Celebration of Irish America’s Commitment to Peace and Reconciliation.”
