Consumer-facing retailers in the Georgetown Main Street corridor can apply online for Bridge-The-Gap Grants until 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15. For details, visit georgetownmainstreet.com.
Both for-profit and nonprofit businesses are eligible. Ineligible are: franchises, businesses with multiple locations, home-based businesses, auto and auto body repair or sales firms, banks, hotels, government entities and businesses in operation for less than one year.
The application for the grants, which are supported by the District Department of Small and Local Business Development, asks for the following information: business name and physical address, type of business, how the money is intended to be used and the month and year the business opened in Georgetown.
All applicants will be notified of their award status by April 16 and grant checks will be mailed on April 17, according to Georgetown Main Street.
