Next Georgetowner Issue: Oct. 14

Sixty-six is the new startup. Like you, we’ve grown older. And wiser. But we’ve never lost our love for Georgetown and the people and places that make it one of Washington’s coolest places to live, shop and dine.

The Georgetowner Newspaper make its debut on Oct. 7, 1954.

In the next issue on Oct. 14 — Volume 67, Number 1 — we’ll cover D.C.’s oldest neighborhood from its very beginning to today. For our 66th birthday, we will also pay tribute to our veteran and beloved writer Gary Tischler, who died this year.

Through 2020, The Georgetowner will print one issue per month.

We will also look at this year’s local races — from the advisory neighborhood commission and Ward 2 to the at-large District Council seats, along with State Board of Education and shadow senator and representative choices. The Georgetowner’s endorsements will be announced as well.

There will also be a real estate special. The pandemic’s effect on real estate is pervasive. A look at sales shows us why. Also, in the InCountry section, there will be a selection of fall foliage road trips, naturally enough.
