Crime Report: 28th St. Mugging; G.U. Assault

From the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), here are the latest crime and police reports in or near Georgetown.

Oct. 11 – Burglary: In the 1700 block of M Street NW.

Oct. 11 – Robbery Investigation: Underway for an incident on 11th and Irving Streets NW. MPD is on the lookout for two black males, 15-17 years of age. Both suspects were reported to be wearing ski masks.

Oct. 11 – Robbery Investigation: Underway for an incident in the 1200 block of 28th and Olive Streets NW. MPD is on the lookout for a 2012 white Kia Sorento SUV with Maryland Tag# 7ET7247, and a white sedan that was occupied by four males.

Oct. 11 – Armed Robbery: In the 1900 block of Sunderland Place NW. MPD is on the lookout for a black male, approximately 30 years of age, beard, and standing 6’3” tall.

Oct. 10 – Officer Involved Shooting: In the 800 block of S Street NW. MPD is investigating the incident.

Oct. 8 – Assault on an Officer: A Georgetown University Police Officer (GUPD) reported they were physically assaulted in the vicinity of the Lauinger Library located at 3700 O St. NW. An arrest was made.

Oct. 8 – Stalking: A student reported being stalked in the vicinity of White-Gravenor Hall.

Oct. 8 – Theft: A GUPD Officer reported a bicycle theft at Leavey Center bike rack located at 1560 Tondorf Rd. NW. An arrest was made.

Oct. 7 – Robbery (Force and Violence): In the 1000 block of 20th Street NW.

Oct. 7 – Sexual Assault: MPD is looking at a string of cases and needs assistance for incidents in the 1100 block of L Street NW, 1000 block of 16th Street NW, and the 1100 block of New York Avenue NW. The suspect is described as a black male, in his 30s or 40s, with a short haircut, light pants, and a light colored Covid mask. He has fled the scene in each offense and may be operating a silver Mitsubishi SUV with Virginia tag UDG1117.

Oct. 7 – Shooting Alert: Unit block of O Street NW. MPD is looking for a yellow or gold Honda.

Oct. 7 – Shooting Investigation: In the 7400 block of Blair Road NW. MPD is searching for white sedan involved in the shooting as well as a black SUV that followed it.

Oct. 7 – Armed Robbery: MPD is seeking assistance in identifying suspects involved in an incident on Aug. 8 in the 7900 block of 14th Street NW. A picture of the suspects from a MPD press release can be seen here.

Oct. 7 – Robbery Investigation: Underway for incident in the 1300 block of Irving Street NW.

Oct. 7 – Armed Robbery: In the 1400 block of Girard Street NW. Lookout for three black males in ski masks. One of the suspects was armed with a gun.

Oct. 7 – Assault with Dangerous Weapon (Hammer) Arrest: On the unit block of O Street NW on Oct. 6.

Oct. 7 – Burglary: On the Unit block of U Street NW.

Oct. 6 – Robbery (Snatch): In the 1700 block of Florida Avenue NW.

Oct. 6 – Robbery Arrest: On Oct. 5 at an establishment in the 1200 block of H Street NW.

Oct. 5 – Burglary: In the 1600 block of Argonne Place NW.

Oct. 4 – Assault with Intent to Commit First Degree Sexual Abuse: MPD is looking for a suspect who was implicated in the incident in the 2000 block of G Street NW. A photo of the suspect is available in a MPD press release linked here.
