Crime Report, Feb. 22: Armed Robberies Up

•Last Saturday, a homicide arrest was made for an incident that occurred on Jan. 27 in the 4400 block of Connecticut Avenue NW. The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) responded to a 3:30 a.m. call where gunshots were heard at a hotel. Upon arriving on the scene, Emergency Medical Services transported three adult females suffering life-threatening injuries to a local hospital. One of the female victims, 20-year-old Dasha Cleary of Waldorf, was pronounced dead at the hospital. Additionally, two male victims were treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect, 18-year-old Gerald Thomas of Temple Hills, is in custody. A MPD press release with additional details is linked here.

Feb. 20 – Robbery Investigation: Underway in the 1300 block of Q Street NW. MPD is on the lookout for four to five juvenile black males.
Feb. 20 – Armed Robbery (Gun) Investigation: Underway for an incident that occurred at 6:38 a.m. in the 7700 block of Eastern Avenue NW. Suspect 1: Black male, 18 to 20 years-old, 5’6,”black jacket, and black mask. Suspect 2: Black male, 18 to 20 years-old, black pants, black mask, black jacket, and armed with a handgun.
Feb. 20 – Armed Robbery (Knife): Underway in the 900 block of S Street NW. MPD is on the lookout for three black males, 14 to 17 years-old, wearing black ski masks, and gray hoodies.
Feb. 19 – Armed Robbery (Gun): The incident occurred in an establishment [the Sunoco Gas Station] located in the 2400 block of Wisconsin Avenue NW. More information, including suspect photos, can be found in a MPD press release linked here.
Feb. 19 – Arrest Made for Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun): The incident occurred on Jan. 31 in the 1300 block of New Jersey Avenue NW. A MPD press release linked here will provide more details.

Feb. 18 – Armed Robbery (Gun): Incident occurred in the 3100 block of Mount Pleasant Street NW. MPD is on the lookout for two black males, one armed, who fled in a red Nissan Maxima.

Feb. 17 – Armed Robbery: Incident occurred in the 1200 block of Columbia Road NW. MPD is on the lookout for two teenage black males with all black clothing and masks, and were last seen fleeing toward Georgia Avenue and Harvard Street NW.
Feb. 16 – Arrest Made for Unlawful Entry: A Georgetown University (GU) student reported the unlawful entry occurred at LXR Hall located at 35th Street NW. The GU Police Department has arrested the suspect and closed the case.
Feb. 16 – Theft: A GU student reported theft of clothing items at Village C East located at 3791 Library Walk.
Feb. 16 – Robbery (Snatch): Incident occurred at Columbia and Ontario Roads NW. Suspect is a black male driving a silver Toyota Camry with DC Tag# GE4130.

Feb. 15 – Robbery (Pickpocket): The incident occurred in the 3000 block of K Street NW. A surveillance photo of the suspect and additional information can be found here.
