From Karen Berner at “Taste of Home”
For this Fourth of July weekend, what could be more American than a cherry pie decorated with a celebratory fireworks motif to serve your guests? Karen Berner’s “Juicy Cherry Pie” might be just the thing for your Happy-Birthday-America festivities.
“Lucky you! Tart, or sour, cherry season is in the heart of summer. Choose fresh tart cherries that are bright in color, shiny and plump. They should feel relatively firm when pressed lightly,” Berner instructs on the Taste of Home website where her “test kitchen approved” Fourth of July favorite recipe awaits.
