Moroccan Earthquake Relief: Where to Give


Morocco is recovering from the effects of the most powerful earthquake in 123 years. At just past 11 p.m., Friday, Sept. 8, a 6.8 magnitude earthquake killed almost 2,500 people and injured thousands, with the death toll expected to climb much higher in the coming days. If you’d like to help, here are some options.

Doctors Without Borders 

Providing medical care and equipment, the organization has deployed teams of its medical staff to the area. You can donate here.

The International Federation of Red Cross & Red Crescent Societies 

The organization has a Morocco-based arm and is accepting donations for its Disaster Relief Emergency Fund. The IFRC has already given over $1.1 million to support Morocco’s Red Crescent Society. You can donate to these efforts here.

UNICEF

The organization put together an emergency relief fund that has currently raised close to $400,000 and is hoping to raise $5 million. You can donate here.
