Santa Arrives in Style for Kids and Pets at Rose Park

The Friends of Rose Park hosted its Winter Market on Saturday afternoon, Dec. 10, spreading the season’s joy with food stalls — Apéro, Bread Furst, Alejandro’s Tacos — and complimentary grilled sausages from Stachowksi’s. There were upscale pet treats for sale, and fine fabrics were available from T&U Mongolian Cashmere.

Christmas music filled the air as Santa Claus (aka Jared Jones) pulled up in a luxe Cadillac SUV and belted out, “Ho, ho, ho,” for all the good girls and boys — and, later on, as well as dogs, some of whom found him a little scary.

Coordinated by Gail Daubert, Dave Dunning, Robert Hetem, Sarah Wade, Russell Bridges, Eric Dickman and others, the lively party packed the Rose Park basketball court and got Christmastime off to a great start for many.
