Catch the Hip-Hop Nutcracker
The Music Center at Strathmore will be showing performances of “The Hip-Hop Nutcracker” today and tomorrow only. Follow Maria-Clara and the Nutcracker Prince as they explore modern day New York City. Glow Happy Hour at Dog Tag Bakery

Gerrard Street Kitchen, the restaurant inside The Darcy Hotel, is serving a three-course Christmas meal with roasted winter vegetable salad, braised short ribs with red wine reduction, fava bean wild mushroom risotto and pumpkin spice crème brulee. Brunch with the Grinch at Sequoia
The “Mean One” himself will be descending from Mount Crumpet to brunch Saturday at Sequoia at Washington Harbour. The grumpy green beloved Dr. Seuss character will be mingling with guests from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with brunch ending promptly at 3 p.m. (remember, The Grinch isn’t a big fan of people!) Check out ‘Julia Peirone — I Am Not Blonde’ at House of Sweden
Swedish artist Julie Peirone explores young girls’ search for a sense of identity in a world influenced by social media. Her photos depict young women’s frustrations with today’s beauty standards and the demands placed on them by society. Peirone was born in Argentina and now lives and works in Stockholm. The exhibit will be open for viewing Saturdays and Sundays from 12 to 5 p.m. More information can be found here.
Christmas Eve Dinner at Cut by Wolfgang Puck
Cut by Wolfgang Puck at the Rosewood Hotel is featuring three-course prix-fixe Christmas Eve dinner ($195/person, $65/child age 10 and under). Most Extravagant Hot Chocolate Ever at Bourbon Steak
It’s the holiday season—why not treat yourself? Bourbon Steak’s patio has turned into a festive wonderland, with three custom-built chalets. The chalets are selling a Macallan Hot Chocolate for $295. It features Macallan 18, a warm Macallan milk foam and Valrhona chocolate. It’s topped with a chocolate tree, edible gold leaf and marshmallow twigs from executive pastry chef AJ Thalakkat. The Choral Arts Society Performs ‘O Night Divine!’
The Choral Arts Society is performing “O Night Divine!” on Christmas Eve at 2 p.m. at the Kennedy Center Concert Hall. Don’t miss nostalgic carols (“Sleigh Ride,” “Silent Night,” “O Come All Ye Faithful,” more) and a full orchestra. Extended? ‘As You Like It!’
The Shakespeare Theatre Company extended its run of “As You Like It” through Jan. 14, 2024. The play, adapted and directed by Daryl Cloran and conceived by Cloran and “Bard on the Beach Shakespeare Festival,” follows the free-spirited Rosalind as she’s exiled from court and escapes to an alternative community. The performances are set in the 1960s with lots of peace, love and flower power. More information on tickets can be found here.
