The National Museum of Women in the Arts Introduces a New Program
The National Museum of Women in the Arts starts a new program Sunday called “The Bigger Picture.” Each program in the series shakes up traditional stylistic and chronological narratives by examining art from the 16th century through today. The program will explore these narratives through the lens of the museum’s collection and thematic topics. First up is “Why Have There Been No Great Women Artists?” Investigate social and political systems and beliefs that define the place of women in the history of art, recognizing Linda Nochlin’s 1971 essay.
