Restaurant Association Debuts the Rammys Honors, Milestone Awards


Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington (RAMW) held its inaugural Rammys Honors on June 18 to bestow Rammy Awards previously presented at the Annual Rammy Awards to highlight several categories announced in advance. 

Kathy Hollinger, CEO of the Greater Washington Partnership is the former RAMW President and CEO.  She was honored with the prestigious Duke Zeibert Capital Achievement Award for her excellence and community leadership, increasing the profile and success of the metropolitan Washington foodservice community. 

The Rammys Honorary Milestone Award recipients were: The Dubliner (50 years), represented by Danny Coleman and the Coleman family; Black’s Bar & Kitchen (25 years), represented by Jeff Black; Equinox on 19th (25 years), represented by Todd Gray and Ellen Kassoff Gray; Kaz Sushi Bistro (25 years), represented by Kaz Okochi; Marcel’s (25 years), represented by Robert and Polly Wiedmaier; and Passage to India (25 years) represented by Sonali Seth, widow of chef/owner Sudhir Seth.

Carlos Rosario International Public Charter School was awarded the 2024 Rammys Joan Hisaoka Allied Member of the Year.  The school delivers high-quality education, career training and supportive services that enable adult immigrants to realize their dreams while strengthening our community and economy.

This year’s Rammy Awards Gala will be held Sunday, July 21, at the Washington, D.C., Convention Center.

RAMW President and CEO Shawn Townsend, welcomed  guests and honorees, while his wife, Symone Sanders Townsend, co-host of MSNBC’s “The Weekend,” hosted the event.
