This evening, L’Avant Garde is hosting a seated, five-course dinner highlighting French classics as part of The Jacques Pépin Foundation’s first-ever nationwide fundraising campaign. The campaign will honor Pépin’s 75-year career and will be a series of 90 chef-hosted events that will lead up to Pépin’s 90th birthday this December. Head to Wolf Trap Because We All Need Some Laughs!

Wolf Trap is hosting the 36th Annual Evening of Comedy this weekend with two shows Friday and two on Saturday (hurry, because tickets are selling out). The Barns will be transformed into a comedy club featuring comedians like Carol Leifer, a writer and producer on “Seinfeld,” SNL vet Rich Hall and Rondell Sheridan of “That’s So Raven” fame. The Washington Performing Arts Gala is Saturday
Arts have the power to inspire and transform and Washington Performing Arts deeply understands this. WPA is hosting their Make IT Happen Gala Saturday at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Library. The festive evening will support arts education programs and performances, as well as community initiatives by WPA. The end of the evening features a global dance party celebrating 50 years of the group’s signature education initiative called the Embassy Adoption Program. See “Rhythm India” at George Mason’s Hylton Center

Take in colorful costumes and enchanting music with Rhythm India, who will be stopping by Saturday evening to George Mason University’s Hylton Performing Arts Center. Rhythm India: “Bollywood and Beyond” is the creation of Joya Kazi, who is a World Choreography Award nominee and Telly Award-winning director and choreographer. The Environmental Film Festival is on Now Through March 29
The Environmental Film Festival in D.C. is now on through next Saturday, March 29. It premiered with the film “The White House Effect,” which uses archival footage to tell the origin story of the climate crisis during presidency of George H.W. Bush. Additional premieres of new conservation and wildlife films include “The American Southwest” and “A Life Among Elephants.” This year’s festival features over 50 programs at venues across the D.C. The Naghash Ensemble is at Strathmore Friday

Enjoy a Friday evening performance of The Naghash Ensemble at The Music Center at Strathmore. The group combines Armenian folk music with new classical and contemporary post-minimalism with a sprinkle of rock and jazz. More information on tickets to the show can be found here.

The National Building Museum Extends Frank Lloyd Wright Exhibit
“Frank Lloyd Wright’s Southwestern Pennsylvania” exhibit has been extended through Sunday, October 5. The exhibit is a journey into the architect behind Fallingwater’s mind and explores his broader creative vision. Take in projects both realized and unrealized in the Southwest Pennsylvania region from the 1930s through 1950s. More information on the exhibit can be found here.

Spring into Screening with LUNGevity
“Lunch and Learn” with the LUNGevity Foundation on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Conway Health and Resource Center. Guests are invited to learn the facts about cancer screenings, have free mammograms and blood pressure screenings, connect with local healthcare and community groups and get free lunch from Busboys & Poets. There will also be the opportunity for signed giveaways from The Washington Commanders and gift cards to Giant Food. More information on the event can be found here.

The Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington Kicks off Their Spring Wine Fling
Spring has sprung, and with it RAMW’s Spring Wine Fling, which begins today and runs through March 31. The annual promotion highlights food and wine pairings at participating restaurants throughout the area. Two-course dinners with two glasses of wine for $55/person will be offered. CityCenterDC Celebrates the Season
Starting Saturday, CityCenterDC is hosting live music and culinary offerings and their annual Palmer Alley spring installation. This year’s installation will feature pink paper blooms and lanterns and will be suspended overhead, offering a festive vibe. Saxophonist DeJay Sax will be the first musician to play Saturday from 2-6 p.m. More information can be found here.

Take a Stroll Through the Georgetown Spring Art Walk
Georgetown Main Street’s annual Spring Art Walk is from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday afternoon. Wander through the Book Hill galleries and shops and enjoy live music, meet artists and purchase pieces to add to your art collection. RSVP to the Art Walk here.
