Get Ready to Laugh! Because They’re Funny Comedy Festival is This Weekend
Because They’re Funny (BTF) Comedy Festival is back for a third year with a weekend of stand-up comedy, panel discussions and more. The Wharf is hosting a “Breakout Comedian of the Year” competition as well. The festival is presented by NICE CROWD in partnership with EventsDC. Take the Family to Strathmore’s Moana Live-to-Film Concert

Oh, how far you’ll go! There are two performances Sunday at the Music Center at Strathmore of Disney’s Moana Live-to-Film Concert. The event brings together an ensemble of Hollywood studio musicians, Polynesian rhythm masters and singers to put on a live show as the film screens behind them. Also at Strathmore this Weekend—A Halloween Pet Parade!

Before Moana on Sunday, Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Mansion at Strathmore will be the venue for a Halloween Pet Parade. Bring your furry or feathered well-behaved, domesticated animals for a spooky pet costume parade and photo op opportunities. Bridge District is continuing its fall outdoor movie series with Hocus Pocus on Friday. The movie begins at 7 p.m. with doors opening at 6 p.m. There will be free popcorn and food and drink available for purchase. More information on the event can be found here.

Grab some of the last few tickets to the Mount Vernon Fall Wine Festival this weekend. Guests are invited to bring a blanket and sample wines from local Virginia wineries while taking home a commemorative wine glass. This Friday, artist Elise Ansel will be speaking at the Folger Shakespeare Library’s Stuart and Mimi Rose Rare Book and Manuscript Exhibition Hall. Ansel shakes up the “Old Master” painting viewpoints that were largely created by men for men by making feminist translations in oil paint. D.C.’s biggest beer festival is back again! Saturday in downtown D.C., enjoy the 13th annual event, featuring 450 draft beers, gravity kegs, and bottle and can pours from over 175 of the best American and international producers. Get Your Race on At the Army Ten-Miler

Cheer on racers at the 40th annual Army Ten-Miler, which is Sunday in D.C. The Race and Expo typically has over 35,000 runners and hundreds of teams from around the world.
