Georgetown is getting into the holiday spirit with a lively new tradition. The Georgetown BID hosted Georgetown Jingle, a festive afternoon of music and shopping on Saturday, December 6, for the second time.

The event filled 11 locations throughout the neighborhood with performances from local jazz, soul, pop and a cappella artists. Musicians played in parks, plazas and storefronts, creating a festive atmosphere for anyone walking through the area. Among the highlights were cheerful performances of “Holly Jolly Christmas” and “Deck the Halls,” which drew crowds and added to the festive mood.
But the event wasn’t just about the music. More than 45 Georgetown shops and restaurants offered special discounts, refreshments and pop-up events to encourage visitors to explore the neighborhood. For many holiday shoppers, it was a chance to discover new spots or revisit favorite ones while enjoying the seasonal atmosphere.

For those looking to warm up between musical sets, the Holiday Cocktail Crawl offered a self-guided tasting tour through 15 Georgetown bars and restaurants. Each stop featured a special holiday or winter-themed drink. “9:30 The Truck,” a mobile box office much like a food truck selling concert tickets, sold fee-free tickets and gave visitors the chance to win tickets to a future concert of their choice.
Visitors also had the opportunity to go ice skating at Washington Harbour’s rink, which is the largest outdoor rink in the city. It’s open daily throughout the holiday season and offers a nice place to enjoy the cold weather.

Georgetown Jingle welcomed both residents and visitors into the holiday season and highlighted the charm and community energy that make Georgetown one of DC’s most festive neighborhoods. With its mix of live music, local shopping and classic winter activities, the event offered a warm and lively way to start the holiday season.
