Georgetown’s Kennedy & Co. will host a happy hour this Friday to support women’s shelters. Two Saturday events will commemorate Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech during the 1963 March on Washington.

Officially ring-necked snakes (Diadophis punctatus), the diminutive reptiles are very commonly found in the northern Virginia region, particularly in moist areas, including river floodplains.
