Journey around the world at the 2018 Reel Affirmations: Washington DC’s International LGBTQ Film Festival. The 25th anniversary year begins on Thursday, November 1, running through Sunday, November 4, and includes an impressive and eclectic schedule of over 40 LGBTQ film screenings from 12 countries. Genres include comedy, drama, romance, international and documentary, both short films and feature length, with themes and stories that run the rainbow gamut, providing windows of new insight to familiar themes. Don’t miss the annual favorites, Girls Shorts and Boys Shorts, the film documentary “Trans Youth,” plus the closing night film is about sensational and notorious photographer Robert Mapplethorpe (Mapplethorpe). All screenings will be held at the Gala Hispanic Theatre in the trendy Columbia Heights neighborhood.
