“We are a choir, but we are also so much more than that. We are a family that cares for and loves one another unconditionally.”
—COTG Member
Season finale! Washington Performing Arts’s stellar “COTG” take the stage in a one-of-a-kind program co-curated by the choir members themselves, speaking and singing out on matters of social justice. One of the region’s most celebrated youth ensembles, the COTG have performed with Matthew Whitaker at the historic Lincoln Theater; at the White House (joined by Grammy-winning pop singer Sara Bareilles), Washington National Cathedral (at both the Inaugural Prayer Services for President Barack Obama and the National Memorial Service for Nelson Mandela), and many other prestigious venues. They are led by Michele Fowlin, a powerful singer in her own right, one of the region’s most respected music educators, a D.C. Mayor’s Arts Award recipient, and the co-host of the arts and culture podcast The Muses Behind the Music.
