Armed Robbery on 31st St. NW on Saturday Night

There was another armed robbery in Georgetown over the weekend — near where a crime was committed two weeks ago.

John Rentzepis of the Citizens Association of Georgetown reported on Saturday, Sept. 12: “Robbery with gun at approximately 11 p.m. The 1500 block of 31st St. NW. Look out for (2) B/M’s, wearing black masks and black clothing. (1) Suspect armed with a handgun.”

Cmdr. Duncan Bedlion of the Metropolitan Police Department’s Second District told The Georgetowner on Sept. 14: The crime “occurred on Saturday at approximately 11:11 pm. Two suspects assaulted the victim from behind and then brandished a handgun, taking the victim’s phone. The victim sustained minor injuries and did not go to an area hospital. Unfortunately, at this time we have no videos or images to share of the suspect but we encourage all citizens with information to call our Command Information Center at (202) 727-9099 or text us at 50411.”
