Georgetowner Realty Review: What Sold in May

It’s time for our Realty Review! On the first Monday of each month, we provide readers with all the data of homes sold in Georgetown from the previous month. In May, six properties sold in Georgetown. All the homes sold for over $1 million. A photo gallery with clickable links of each property sold can be found at the bottom of this page.

“It was great to compare 2023 numbers to last year, 2022,” Nancy Taylor Bubes, head of the NTB Group of Washington Fine Properties, told The Georgetowner. “Sixty two homes have sold over $1 million in Georgetown so far this year,” Bubes said. “Half of those were over $2 million. This is at our current interest rates at around 6.5 percent. During the same months last year, with rates being around 4 percent, we had 64 home sales in that same range. And, again, only half were homes in excess of $2 million. I think this speaks very positively about our Georgetown market.”

“My prediction is that we will still continue with healthy sales throughout the summer and fall and right through the 2024 election,” she added. “The hope is that an election year will bring lower interest rates and lower gas prices.”
