Tonight: Don’t Miss ‘A Conversation: The Enduring Legacy of Frederick Douglass’
There are a few tickets left for this evening’s talk at The National Portrait Gallery. The event, presented in conjunction with the Portrait Gallery’s exhibit “One Life: Frederick Douglass.” The panel discussion will talk about the ways Douglass used speeches, his personal narrative and images in his activism. Expect to see lots of fiddles and banjos March 29 at Wolf Trap with the Black Opry Revue (featuring Sug Daniels, Robert Lea, Tylar Bryant, Raachel Maxann and Grace Givertz). The Black Opry is a hub for artists and fans of country, blues, folk and Americana music to provide a way to support and amplify artists and their diverse, dynamic sounds. Let’s Go Fly a Kite— at the Blossom Kite Festival
Kite enthusiasts and those looking for some fun at the Washington Monument will be happy to hear that the Blossom Kite Festival is this weekend. Enjoy kite flying competitions, live music and family-friendly activities Saturday, with a rain date of Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. More information on the Blossom Kite Festival can be found here.
Sip a Glass (or Two!) at the Spring Wine Fling
The D.C. Spring Wine Fling ends Sunday, so don’t miss your chance to have dinner at participating locations around the area. Prices are $55 per person for dinner, and that includes two courses of wine glasses. More information can be found here.
‘Company’ at the Kennedy Center Bids Adieu Sunday

Stephen Sondheim and George Furth’s musical Company is leaving The Kennedy Center March 31. The musical, which tells the tale of Bobbie, 35, who constantly gets asked why she’s not married and why won’t she settle down and start a family? Bobbie’s journey of self-discovery is the true heart of the show. The comedy recently one five Tony Awards, including Best Revival of a Musical. More information on tickets can be found here.
America’s Favorite Curmudgeon Will Perform at the Anthem

Larry David, creator of “Seinfeld” and current star and creator of the HBO series “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” will at the Anthem Friday evening. There are still tickets available to what will sure to be a pretty, pretty, pretty good show! More on how to get tickets can be found here.

The last weekend of the National Gallery of Art’s “Mark Rothko: Paintings on Paper” ends Sunday. Don’t miss more than 100 of Rothko’s enthralling paintings on paper. The paintings range from surrealist works to early figurative subjects. The exhibit is quite popular, so expect that you may need to wait in line, especially given it’s the last weekend of the exhibit. More information can be found here.
MPD’s Easter Bunny Stops by Rose Park Saturday
Hippity-hop over to Rose Park at 26th and O Streets NW for the Metropolitan Police Department’s Easter Bunny Road Trip. Second District officers, and the Easter Bunny himself, will be on hand to deliver special treats.
