Cathedral Choral Society’s Directors to Speak at Dec. 14 Breakfast

The oldest symphonic chorus in the nation’s capital, the 120-member Cathedral Choral Society was founded in 1941 by Paul Callaway, music director of Washington National Cathedral. Following the death of J. Reilly Lewis, who led the Society for 31 years, Steven Fox became CCS’s third music director in 2017. A graduate of Dartmouth College and the Royal Academy of Music, Fox also serves as artistic director of New York’s Clarion Choir and Orchestra. Executive Director Christopher Eanes joined CCS in 2019 after a decade as artistic director and CEO of the Cincinnati Boychoir. Eanes earned a bachelor’s degree at Occidental College and a doctorate at the University of Southern California.

At the Dec. 14 breakfast, Eanes and Fox will talk about how they collaboratively manage the Cathedral Choral Society, program its performances and work to deepen the engagement of today’s audiences with choral music.

Event: Thurs., Dec. 14, The Four Seasons Hotel, 2800 Pennsylvania Ave. NW. Doors open at 8 a.m., talk begins at 8:30 a.m. For tickets, go here.
